I greatly enjoyed my Sapa, Halong bay Tour. The meals were all very good and my hotel was adequate and fine.

My guide, Phi, was excellent. His knowledge of his country culture was outstanding, and greatly added to my trip experience. His English was excellent and made the tours of the monastaries so fascinating. Also, he was able to explain to me the various religious figures and traditions of each place we visted. In addition, he explained the traditions and regions of the tribal styles of clothes which I was very curious about. Also, when we visted a typical Hmong family, it was helpful to speak Hmong language, as I had many questions about the typical Hmong home.

My driver was wonderful and a careful and conscientious driver. The vehicle (Land Cruiser) was clean at all times and very comfortable. It was indeed a pleasure to be in such capable care as with my guide and my driver. They made my experience complete.

First of all, let me say that the whole trip was a wonderful experience and certainally excellent value for money.

The guides overall were very knowledgeable and did generally go out of their way to help my traveling companion who had some mobility problems. They were personalble and seemed really to care about us. Service above and beyond the call of duty!

Meals were all excellent! Even the o­ne o­n the Mekong River cruise boat which was suppored to be not up to standard. The guides asked us for any special requests (there were 9 vegetarians in our group) and ordered a wide variety of dishes that everyone enjoyed. The ala carte dinner was confusing and we ended up with far too much food, some of which wasn't what we had thought it was o­n the menu. Just having the guide order would have been better.

The hotels were first-rate and the drivers and buses were excellent.

Sorry for the delay in my response. I wanted to go through my log of the Vietnam trip to better answer your questions.

My sister and I thought that we received excellent value for our money. The hotels were better than we expected, as was the general quality of the food. The meals were very good. We had o­ne complaint. The meals were big, almost feasts, at both lunch and dinner several of the days. The meals were too close together, sometimes o­ne ending at 2 PM and the dinner starting before 6PM. We would not at all have minded having a bowl of noodles for lunch when we had o­ne of the terrific meals for dinner that had to start early because of the evening's entertainment. Also, perhaps because the quality of the meals was so high, we were not impressed with the two meals you specifically advertised, the dumpling dinner and the duck dinner.

One meal we particularly enjoyed was the lunch in Hoi An where we ate in a garden. Rob had the curried chicken and I had the steak. The ambience and the food were delightful.

One other issue: We would have liked the guides to join us for the meals if they chose to do so.

All of the guides spoke good English and were enthusiastic about their work and their city (country).

We would certainly recommend CTV to anyone who asked.

For the meal, The final day ( 4/04/07) Lunch at a local restaurant called Mimosa Restaurant, very good Menu, service and quality.

We had o­nly o­ne Guide and he was excellent all round with a very good command of English. We communicated with each other fluently and he was very knowledgable about each site we visited. We have a very safe and comfortable driver. The vehicle was kept clean and fresh all the time.

Our o­ne Guide was at all times helpful and very knowledgeable of all the sites visited. He was a genuine nice person, complete with a charming and pleasant disposition. Every day of the whole trip was memorable but, we still desire to return to Vietnam perhaps by an overland route so as to embrace even more of the your culture and History.

It was a pleasure to meet you. Thank you and your company - VietnamSpirittravel for a vacation that was "NO. 1", thanks to your excellent guides and drivers. The shows, accommodation, meals and expert knowledge was simply superior.

Long in Hanoi and Binh in SaiGon were "the best" guides, thank you.

Our drivers, both Mr. Quang were excellent. Mr Quang in Hanoi also had a great singing voice making car travel enjoyable. Mr Quang in Saigon had recently lost his Mother and he was understandably a little quiet at first, however he proved himself to be a true professional and looked after us wonderfully.

Every aspect of the tours in the North and Saigon were "most memorable". The Cooking Class and especially the show following was absolutely "first rate".

Marie (my wife) and I enjoyed our Vietnam trip very much. It was a pleasure for me to show her Vietnam so she could understand my liking for the country. I also enjoyed revisiting many familiar places ( it's amazing how you see things from a different perspective second time around) and visiting many new o­nes.

Our guides in each city were great. Thanks to Long and Pham (Hanoi), Chuc (Hue), Toan (Nhatrang), Tu (Mekong delta), for a job well done. You are all knowlegable, friendly, reliable, punctual, kind, and you even helped my with my language practice! The water provided free of charge was appreciated too.
Thanks too for the aid and assistance of the various drivers.

I apologize for taking so long to respond to you. It has been a very busy week.

Regarding the meals, they were excellent. The o­ne we would recommend is the Snake restaurant in Hanoi. It was superb. The o­nly o­ne we did not care for too much was the o­ne in the Hotel in Hanoi, but it is still fine. Overall the meals were excellent. We would just recommend ordering slightly less food.

The guides were all excellent and we would recommend each of them. Tu and Truong were particularly good and considerate. All of the guides gave us shopping and bargaining advice. Truong taught us some vietnamese (although we were not the best students). We appreciate the early starts in some places in order to beat the crowds. Also, Dzung moved things around in our schedule to accommodate our shopping requests. We saw everything o­n the itinerary and got the souvenir shopping done that we wanted to.

The cars and drivers were all good. However, I would note that the driving in Dalat scared us a bit Lots of honking and passing of other cars/trucks. You may want to warn customers that driving in Vietnam is a bit wild.

Regarding website comments, I would note that the tours were all done very well - very good accommodations, including seating at various events and hotel locations. The guides were very conscientious, knowledgeable, punctual, and accommodating to our requests. Food was excellent and abundant.

The o­nly suggestions we would have is to include a day or two of different things, such as a tai chi lesson, cooking lesson, bike ride in the country, etc. Something to breakup the visits to the historical sites and museums.
